the other day i went to the william eggleston exhibit at the whitney. aside from the room being way too dark, i was able to get into a lot of his work. if you’ve never heard of him, he’s basically been singlehandedly credited for ushering color photography into the art world and making the snap-shot an acceptable art form during his 50+ years behind the lens. his colors are insanely saturated (in a good way), and make every scene look so real it becomes surreal.check it out: http://whitney.org/www/eggleston/index.jsp
